My friend became a Dad and didn't know what to do. He had a good job, rented an apartment in downtown Maumee, Ohio and was going steady with his girl and the mother of his child. He did the right thing...he contacted a Realtor to buy his first small home.
Jeremy ( not his real name) and Melissa (not his real girlfriend) and $1,000( not the actual amount) gave up the life of leasing and stopped to go over there expenses together. Everything they did was documented and every buck they spent had a designation. Keeping track of expenses proved difficult because they had to give up many things they usually we would pay for but wouldn't tell each other.
They didn't know they weren't going at it alone-they had a Realtor. John the Realtor gave Jeremy and Melissa consulting on there expenses and many inexpensive properties in Toledo to call home. Toledo was not there first choice nor was having a baby. Personal wants took a backseat to future development of their family tree that was quickly growing roots.
Luckily the amount they were able to put down on a home was rolled into the amount given to the sellers at closing making there down payment on the home almost nothing. To make matters better they bought a home off the government Fannie Mae that allowed the buyers to roll in all expenses on there new home to the loan amount. Once again this made homeownership a reality to this newly proud Dad. All of this is possible through the work of a Realtor.
This happens all the time and if you're a new Father this special event in life can happen for you.
